Toronto Raptors rookie Scottie Barnes is listed as doubtful for Monday’s game in New York against the Knicks because of a right thumb sprain.
Barnes hurt his thumb in Saturday’s win over the Indiana Pacers. The team said X-rays came back negative and they would continue to monitor the injury.
Raptors coach Nick Nurse said Canadians Dalano Banton and Chris Boucher are possible starters if Barnes can’t go.
Seven games into his NBA career, the 20-year-old is averaging 18.1 points, 8.9 rebounds and two assists per game. The Raptors (4-3) selected Barnes with the fourth overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft.
Two-way player Justin Champagnie is up with the team and will be available against the Knicks.
