Ben Roethlisberger will miss Sunday’s game against the winless Detroit Lions as the Pittsburgh Steelers are placing their star quarterback on the COVID-19 reserve list.
Roethlisberger, 39, has thrown for 1,986 yards and 10 touchdowns in eight games for the Steelers, who sit in second place in the AFC North Division.
Pittsburgh (5-3) will also be without Canadian wide receiver Chase Claypool, who sustained a toe injury during last week’s 29-27 victory over the Chicago Bears. The Abbotsford, B.C., native has 29 receptions for 433 yards and a touchdown this season.
