It’s an especially dark day for the NHL as COVID-19 increasingly runs rampant throughout the league on Tuesday.
After the NHL postponed Calgary Flames games through Dec. 16 on Monday following six players and a staff member being placed in protocols, seven teams have reported additional COVID cases by early afternoon on Tuesday — including the Flames adding three more players.
Also, Tuesday’s scheduled game between the Carolina Hurricanes and Minnesota Wild has been postponed due to the Hurricanes’ outbreak, and more cases and postponements could be on the horizon.
Here’s the full list of people placed in protocol Tuesday:
Boston Bruins: Brad Marchand, Craig Smith
Calgary Flames: Milan Lucic, Sean Monahan, Noah Hanifin
Carolina Hurricanes: Jordan Staal, Andrei Svechnikov, Ian Cole, Steven Lorentz
Colorado Avalanche: Devon Toews
Edmonton Oilers: Ryan McLeod
New York Islanders: Mat Barzal
Vancouver Canucks: Luke Schenn, Juho Lammikko
