Kadri, Stamkos, Guentzel and Terry added to All-Star Game rosters

The votes are in and Nazem Kadri, Steven Stamkos, Jake Guentzel and Troy Terry are heading to the NHL All-Star Game after the “Last Man In” fan ballot.

The NHL announced Tuesday the final four selections for its annual showcase scheduled for Feb. 5 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. They join 40 other players, 10 per division, who were named last Thursday for the four-team mini-tournament.

Guentzel, who made his All-Star Game debut in 2020, tops the Pittsburgh Penguins with 20 goals and 18 assists for 38 points. He will replace Rangers star Mika Zibanejad, who was chosen to be the Last Man In for the Metropolitan Division but is not able to attend the event due for personal reasons.

Kadri heads to his first All-Star Game and is fifth in the league with 49 points (14 goals and 35 assists) for the Western Conference-leading Colorado Avalanche. The 31-year-old will accompany Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar plus teammates Cale Makar and Nathan MacKinnon, who said it was “silly” Kadri was omitted from the initial list.

Stamkos is set to make his seventh All-Star Game appearance and has 18 goals and 28 assists for a team-leading 46 points with the double defending Stanley Cup champion Tampa Bay Lightning.

Terry is in the midst of a breakout season with the Anaheim Ducks and has already set career highs with 22 goals and 14 assists for a team-leading 36 points.

The All-Star festivities begin with the skills competition on Feb. 4 at 7:30 p.m. ET followed by the three-on-three All-Star tournament Feb. 5 at 3 p.m. ET. You can watch all the action on Sportsnet and Sportsnet NOW.
