The Vancouver Canucks will be looking to extend their current win streak on the road when they visit the Calgary Flames on Saturday night as +165 underdogs on the NHL odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
Vancouver opened its current four-game road trip with a 5-1 victory in Winnipeg, and has now outscored opponents by a 12-4 margin during the 3-0-0 run on the road it takes into Saturday night’s matchup at Scotiabank Saddledome.
Thursday’s victory over the Jets marked a turnaround for the Canucks, who struggled offensively while getting swept during a preceding three-game homestand. Vancouver tallied just four total goals while losing three straight on home ice this past week, and has been limited to two or fewer goals on eight occasions while going 5-4-3 in its past 12 contests.
The Canucks have also sputtered in recent trips to Calgary, losing five of seven while scoring two or fewer goals in five of those outings.
The Flames return home as -195 favourites at sports betting sites in the wake of Thursday night’s 5-1 defeat in St. Louis. That loss put the brakes on a promising 3-1-0 run that featured a pair of dominating home wins in which they outscored opponents by a wide 12-2 margin. However, Calgary has been unable to win three in a row on home ice since May of last year.
Another all-Canadian matchup highlights the Saturday NHL schedule as the Edmonton Oilers visit the Montreal Canadiens as -195 chalk on the NHL betting lines. The Oilers hit the road after extending their current win streak to three games with Thursday’s 3-2 win over Nashville. Edmonton’s resurgence comes on the heels of a 2-11-2 run. Conversely, there has been no relief for the slumping Canadiens. Montreal has surrendered five goals per game during a four-game slide, and is set as a +165 underdog for Saturday.
Earlier in the day, the Ottawa Senators host the Anaheim Ducks at -110 on the NHL odds. The Jets try to halt a six-game losing streak as they stumble into St. Louis as +145 underdogs, while the Toronto Maple Leafs aim for a third straight win as they visit Detroit as -220 chalk.
The Senators are coming off a 3-2 shootout loss to the visiting Carolina Hurricanes, but have earned at least a point in four of six home dates. Conversely, the Jets have lost four straight on the road, with three of those defeats coming by just one goal. And the Maple Leafs have work to do to overcome an uneven 4-3-2 record in their past nine away contests.
