Canada’s Rachel Homan and John Morris dropped to 3-2 at the Olympic mixed doubles curling competition with a 6-2 loss to Sweden on Saturday.
The loss to Almida de Val and Oskar Eriksson (5-2) snapped Canada’s three-game win streak.
Sweden had steals of one in the first and second ends and then scored three in the fourth end to grab a commanding 5-1 lead.
The Swedes are one of the favourites in Beijing. Eriksson and de Val won bronze at last year’s world championship, while Eriksson teamed up with Anna Hasselborg to capture gold at the 2019 worlds.
Morris won gold with Kaitlyn Lawes when the sport made its Olympic debut in 2018 in PyeongChang.
Canada will face the United States on Saturday at 7:05 a.m. ET.
