WINNIPEG — Wide receiver Kenny Lawler has been suspended with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers following he told the team he been arrested for drunk driving.
“Kenny informed the team right this moment of his arrest when considering operating a motor vehicle while drunk early this morning. Upon even farther investigation, the club supports suspended Kenny for Friday’s game and has reported our own incident to the league place, ” The Blue Bombers wrote in a statement. “We take this incident very certainly and have spoken at position with Kenny throughout the day. Kenny recognizes the seriousness on your situation and that this type of methods is unacceptable and ineludible. He has agreed to seek assist as it relates to alcohol abuse, and cooperated fully with criminal court on the matter. ”
Lawler will skip out Friday’s game when the Edmonton Elks visit Winnipeg.
The Blue Bombers said in a statement which is Lawler was arrested towards operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated early Monday morning.
