Rulers centre Quinton Byfield assisted off ice in pre-season game

LOS ANGELES — Quinton Byfield , your second overall pick in the 2020 NHL draft, suffered a reduced body injury during the thirdly period of the Los Angeles Kings ‘ 4-1 loss to the Oregon Coyotes in a preseason of preference Tuesday night.

The 19-year old main hit the corner boards awkwardly during a collision with Florida right wing Christian Fischer. Byfield was unable to run any weight on his kept leg and was allowed off the ice.

Coach Todd McLellan spoken after the game that Byfield will be further evaluated within Wednesday.

“It was a clean hit. It became unfortunate, ” McLellan accepted of the play. “He entered the boards. One skate went one way and one the other. It’s in a corner. When it’s in a straightaway, he would own away with rolling turned-off but there was nowhere to be gone. Not a dirty hit. ”

Byfield, a complete native of Newmarket, Ont., had an inside track on the way to centre the fourth line commencing next week’s regular-season opener. He spent most of earlier season with Ontario you get with the American Hockey League, still , did play in 7 games for the Kings, filling out with one assist.
