Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin “was confirmed positive” for COVID-19 Friday morning, the team announced on Twitter.
In the statement, the Canadiens say Bergevin is being monitored by team medical staff and “will follow the protocols set forth by the National Hockey League and the public health authorities.”
Bergevin, 56, has been GM of the Canadiens since 2012.
Montreal returns to the ice Saturday at home against the Nashville Predators.
